My birthday was a couple weeks ago. I’ve been freaking out about my 30th birthday since I turned 25, so I knew I needed to do something big so I wouldn’t be sitting at home moping over it.
My idea was “Roaring out of the 20s”: a 1920s themed event that turned my house into a speakeasy, complete with period drinks, gambling, and dancing! It was AMAZING.

The cake was designed after my invitations by Sweetface Cakes and looked perfect. And the taste was out of the this world! The bottom layer was chocolate espresso with chocolate ganache filling and the top layer was red velvet with caramel cream cheese filling. All topped with the best buttercream I’ve ever tasted and then a layer of fondant.
I hired bartender, Kristen Aplin, to make all our specialty themed drinks. The menu included champagne, martinis, aviations, bronxes, manhattans, old fashioneds, and mint juleps.

Spangler Entertainment provided a craps table for the night, and David Hendricks did a great job as the dealer. After he left, we opened up the floor to do some dancing!

And, of course, there was a photo booth. Here’s a sampling of the 300+ photos I got! Don’t you love everyone’s costumes?

I am so grateful to everyone who made it out. Thank you so much for making it the best 30th birthday ever!
